What your DNA results can help you do

Your DNA results can reveal genetic factors related to neurodegenerative conditions and cognitive abilities, giving you a broader view of your brain health.

Uncover potential neurological risks

Identify genetic variants associated with conditions such as late-onset Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, including risks that may not be apparent from your family history.

Explore your cognitive abilities

Discover how genetic factors may be associated with memory, processing speed, problem-solving, reaction time, and other cognitive abilities.

Consider informed next steps

Review your results alongside your personal and family history, and discuss with your healthcare provider whether monitoring, further evaluation, or other follow-up may be appropriate.

Reports include:
Late-onset Alzheimer’s disease
Late-onset Parkinson’s disease
Multiple sclerosis
Narcolepsy
Cognitive decline
Stroke
Restless legs
Bipolar disorder

Binge Eating

Binge eating disorder (BED) is a serious, life-altering eating disorder characterized by frequent episodes of consuming very large amounts of food but without subsequent purging behaviors, such as vomiting or excessive exercise. Those with BED often feel a loss of control during binges and experience feelings of shame or guilt afterwards.

Brain Aneurysm

A bulge in the wall of an artery in the brain that can leak or rupture, causing a life-threatening bleed. Many are found by chance and cause no symptoms until they rupture.

Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are mental health conditions that impact eating habits. People with eating disorders have an unhealthy relationship with food, their weight, and the shape of their body.

Late-onset Alzheimer's disease

Late-onset Alzheimer's disease is a degenerative disease of the brain that causes dementia. Dementia is a gradual loss of memory, judgment skills, and the ability to process information.

Narcolepsy

Narcolepsy is a chronic neurological disorder caused by a dysfunction in the brain's ability to regulate normal sleep-wake cycles. People with narcolepsy have lower levels of orexin (also called hypocretin), a chemical in the brain that is critical for maintaining wakefulness and regulating REM sleep.

X-linked Adrenoleukodystrophy

(ABCD1)
X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) is a peroxisomal disorder caused by mutations in the ABCD1 gene, located on the X chromosome. It is characterised by the accumulation of very long-chain fatty acids (VLCFAs) in tissues, most notably the nervous system, adrenal glands and testes.

Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

A condition affecting the tiny blood vessels in the brain, common in older adults and often seen on brain MRI. It contributes to ischemic stroke and vascular cognitive impairment.

Cognitive Decline

Mild cognitive decline is a normal part of aging that can affect cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and problem-solving. About 60-70% of the differences in people's cognitive decline may come from genetics.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a group of eye disorders that can lead to vision loss over time. While it is not entirely clear what causes this vision loss, scientists believe it is due to damage to the optic nerve caused by increased pressure from fluid build up in the eye.

Late-onset Parkinson's disease

Parkinson's disease is a progressive disorder of the nervous system. The disease affects several regions of the brain, especially the area that controls balance and movement.

RPE65-related retinopathy

(RPE65)
RPE65-related retinopathy is a rare inherited retinal disorder caused by mutations in the RPE65 gene. These mutations disrupt the visual cycle, leading to progressive vision loss.
