Hi, I'm Scotskiwi
and this is my family's tree. If you are seeking more info, please give me a clue who exactly you are talking or enquiring about. Christian names only of persons don't work and I won't trawl through my tree to try and work out who the query refers to. DOB, DOD and POB all help. If you can't be bothered then neither can I. if you don't get a reply then you didn't follow the guidlines just advised. I reserve the right to be a Grumpy Old Man. Re Maori lineage....this is a difficult area as I am relying on published and in the main, accepted written historical records. With much of the genealogy being from an oral base there are going to be queries and disputes. I have only used information found in accredited research papers and govt agencies as well as recorded Iwi information. Spelling is major problem as differing accounts record Maori names in various forms.Don't shoot the guy who is trying his best and invested a lot of time trying to get the whakapapa right. Never believe everything you find on the internet. I've found that out to my cost.............there's some real rubbish out there...some of it very convincing but still rubbish. If there's a danger sign for a personal photo it means there's a question mark of some kind or to take care re information. Be cautious.. I am going through my tree and identifying these persons. It also indicates research is in progress.... A new assist to those who have acceess is the image of a Family Tree as a personal photo. It means there is a link to a researched tree but probably unverified elsewhere......generally I use these where the line is distant to my bloodline........ And before I get another message, yes, I do have a person over 120 years old in my tree. If you some research and you'll find all the info elsewhere that supports the age. It's probably still wrong but I won't argue it. It doesn't really matter. The site was last updated on 26 mai 2013, and it currently has 147 registered member(s).
Sorry but I am not offering future memberships to the site for various reasons. The info is readily accessible to myHeritage by Smartmatch. If I could work out how to turn off joining other family sites I would. Didn't have the problem of having discrete or hidden joining sites previously but obviously there's been a software tweak by the goons at Myheritage HQ. Tip: I respond well to politeness.
