Janice BanksHi Lynne.
My connection is with the Madden site - my pre marriage name was Janice Madden. When I eventually get all my information on my site, I have a lot of stories about Henry St John Madden, who came here as a convict on the Cambridge at the age of 19. Probably a good guy who was cold, and stole a cloak to keep warm.
Lovely to meet you 'on line'.
I am from Brisbane
Regards Jan Banks
Nice to meet you. I am a direct descendant of Maria Chappell Morton (Eliza Katherine's sister) and I am also happy to information share.
However, most of my information would be on the Morton family (Eliza's birth family). I am also from Brisbane.
Regards . . . Lynne.

CV WalkerHello Lynne and Jan My goodness in such a short period of time we have managed to bridge the generations and realize that we all owe our lives to Henry St. John Madden marrying and having children, and the cycle repeating several times so that now all these years later we meet (albeit virtually). I hope to visit Australia next year, and as all my family are still in QLD it would be lovely to meet you both to talk about old, old times (i.e. times long before we were born!) Warmest regards, Charmaine V Walker Madden, Elworthy, Johnson Family Tree
Well, you never know . . . we may be able to arrange that and step back in time!
I have a couple of transcripts of letters from that time period that make mention of Henry Betts and Henry Madden. However, I wonder if there are any photo's that have survived the passage of time?
