Tom HartleyQuestion for you, William McAdam was born 1797 on your tree, but I have his daughter Eliza Jane married to Archibald Riddell born 1806, not possible.

Tom HartleyBoth our trees have two Agnes's and two Samuel's listed as children of William McAdam. I'm confused.

Stacie KozakI will double check it ... however it is VERY common if one child dies the next will be named the same.. Morbid yes - but common.
It wasn't a case of morbidity. It was to honor the relative, even though the person may have recently died. It is like my mother is named in the middle as Vivian. It goes back to the Vivien name in our history, not the morbidity of it.
It that were the case, then we should stop naming children and just number them. It would be safer, but it would sound more like a jail.
