I'm looking for family, descendants of Wojciech Wojtowicz (may be known as Albert, Adalbert or George).
Wojciech came from Slonne, a village near Rabka. Slonne (the name was shortened to Slone) is now a part of town Rabka (Malopolska province).
As it is clear from old documents, in 1905 Wojciech sold what he inherited from his father John and after that moved to the U.S. In Poland stayed Wojciech's brother Ludwik (Louis) and his sister-in-law Rozalia (Rosalie).
In the U.S. Wojciech got married and had a son. The woman he married was a widow and also had a son from the first marriage. The names of his wife and sons are unknown.
From family stories I know that Wojciech worked in a factory, and he died because of health problems. Unfortunately I do not know the name of that factory and place they lived. I don't know any dates either.
HI, Im looking for my family relatives that immigrate to USA in 1930 /-, the only think I know that they were comming from North-East Bohemia. It was quite big family (6 and more children) and the father was working originally as a baker. Their surname was Vaclavik.
I'm looking for any information on my grandparents Lola Kate(Brewer)and Albert Burton Burdick. Both of my grandparents are decease and trying find about their lifes. I know that my grandfather died in1936 in coal mine accident .Any information or facts of my family history would help me.
I did find this newspaper article published July 28, 1936 in the Ada Evening News, Ada, Oklahoma. Robert H. Brown, chief mine inspector, said in a report negligence of workmen in failing to test for evidence of gas pockets before beginnlng work resulted in an explosion which killed three men at the Buck Creek No. 11 mine at Panama. "Two machine men and a shot firer were on the 1500 foot level when the explosion occurred," said Brown, who inspected the explosion scene Monday. "A carbide lamp, being used to set off shots, apparently ignited gas in "a pocket."
Albert Burdick, Panama, and Perry Dodd and George Frame, both of Wilburton, were killed in the explosion last Saturday.
Are you on ancestry.com? There is a lot of information on this family on that site. If it is not your profile, I'd be happy to contact the tree owner so you can make contact.
