Hello my wife's grandmother Raisel known in England as Rose was descended from a shai Shulman from Smolensk in 19th century. She was born in Russia in 1881 and died in London in 1964-married to Morris Shifrin.
I understand very well how difficult it is to look for relatives of the former Russian Empire, then the Soviet Union, then the CIS ... I'd like to help in the search. Genealogy is my job, but I'll be happy to advise.
Я очень хорошо понимаю, как сложно искать родственников на территории бывшей Российской империи, потом СССР, потом СНГ... С удовольствием помогу в поисках. Генеалогия - моя работа, но я с удовольствием проконсультирую.
I am trying to find some relative who might be living in Russia. My great grandfather Constantine Petrovitch Yulutekov was born in the Crimea circa 1844. His father was Petro, who was in the army, his mother was Paraskoia and she died in about circa 1855. He had a brother Diersmidoschk (not sure of spelling) and he died about 1884, my great grandfather, Constance, a sister Dunia, and a younger brother Daniel. They moved around quite a bit and then Constance was then taken on in the army as a drummer boy, so he says in his diary. He wrote to his father who was still in Russia about how he had made his way around Europe, India, Uk and then finaly to South Africa where he settled, got married and raised a family. He posted the letter to the Empress asking her to see if she could get the letter to his father or family........I now have a copy of that letter as a diary translated into English.
I am not sure if the children Dunia and Daniel, grew up and got married or what happened to them. I have tried looking on here but because of the language barrier cannot understand what happens or maybe nobody knows what I am writing about or maybe they have just died out?? They also had an aunt and uncle and cousin.....on their father's side
Antiep Yulutekov, Ferdot Yulutekov, and Olga Yulutekov Feoderovna and her son ?Feoderovich.
I don't have any dates only that he dated the letter 1884 just before my grandmother was born and he named her Dunia after his sister and I am named after them.
