Is there a wildcard character on this web site. For example, I want to search on Savage but don't have the exact spelling for the Ellis Island documents. I want to searach on Sa% to pull up all of the last names that start with Sa. Can anyone help?
I believe the below answer is correct. It seach and find any variations of the name - even some you didn't expect. What I don't know is, whether it find everything there is or not.... one could have the thought that it doesn't cover all. And I say that, because I - in several occations - have found somehing, that I left till later, and then I couldn't find it again. Had I not putt the link to the particular page onto my Favourites, I'd probably never find it again...
I've come across an interesting situation recently. A branch of my family came from Dölitz, Kriese Pyritz, Prussia. This is one of several Kriese that were moved to Poland in 1945. By Googling I was able to find that Dölitz is now Dolice, Poland. How should I go about listing this in my family tree? Currently I have Dölitz, Pyritz, Germany even though I know Germany wasn't a country at the time (1790s to 1830s). Any thoughts?
I am doing research at a location that does not have internet access. Entering info by hand on forms is tedious and I cannot find a PDF form (to download) that allows me to fill in info (while not online) on my laptop. I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.0 and Reader 11.0.7. Thanks for your help!!!!

My family tree starts from Victor Pawelski born circ 1770.Then Lukas Pawelski, a farmer of Poznan (Gross Drammer) born about 1811. Lukas and his brother Valentin sailed on the August to Port Adelaide, Australia arriving 17th August 1856.
My father was Thomas Leo Pawelski and his father was Thomas Joseph Pawselski born 3 September 1872.
